Today I’ve posted something a little different. Rather than introducing a new acquisition, I’ve selected six books that have recently found new homes in Special Collections libraries across North America.

Each demonstrates that the value of an original book lies not simply in the text it contains, but in the evidence it carries—annotations, bindings, ownership inscriptions, repairs, and patterns of use—that invite students to ask questions no digital surrogate can fully answer. These are books that reward careful observation and become catalysts for teaching, research, and discovery.
