This  North–Central German Protestant Sammelband (1675–1685) unites doctrinal defense, devotional interiority, and pastoral regulation within a single binding. It opens with Gabriel Mylius’ Harmonia patrum (Leipzig, 1675), a Saxon Lutheran exercise in patristic apologetics, printed in the Empire’s principal book-trade city and aimed at demonstrating that Luther stood firmly within the authority of the Fathers. Bound with it are three devotional works by Joseph Hall in German translation (Hannover and Helmstedt, 1678–1684), including the 1684 Hauenstein edition translated by I. Friedl. Hall’s Anglican spirituality—anti-Roman, scriptural, and pastorally meditative, proved exportable to Lutheran territories, and its appearance in Hannover (a court city with English dynastic ties) and in Helmstedt (home of the Academia Julia) reflects a controlled and intellectually vetted reception of English Protestant devotion.

The printing geography of Leipzig anchors the volume in the commercial and theological heart of Saxon Lutheranism; Helmstedt and Gardelegen (Lüderwald) situate it within a university-centered culture of orthodox Lutheran scholarship; Hannover signals courtly and international Protestant awareness; and Jena, where Johann Jacob Bauhöfer printed Philipp Müller’s 1685 Christlicher Bericht auf einige Fragen von Tauf-Paten.
