Philosophical assertions defended by Robert Schieringer under the chairmanship of

Professor Philipp Miller, S.J. (1613, Graz – 1676)

Philipp Miller, of Austria, S.J. — Born at Graz; entered the Society of Jesus in 1629; professor of philosophy at the College of Graz. He presided over a large number of philosophical theses which were printed at Graz, by the Widmanstetter heirs, between 1641 and 1649. Robert Schieringer, does not have a separate Sommervogel entry — he appears only as the respondens (student/defendant) in the 1648 disputation. That means he was probably not a Jesuit, but a candidate for the doctorate in philosophy at the Collegium Graeciens.

Sommervogel, Bibl. de la Compagnie de Jésus, vol. V col. 1097, nº 1 (this disputation listed); Graff 431. — Not in VD17; not in OCLC/WorldCat. – nbn:de:bvb:12-bsb11108957-6
